Help on Sunday Morning

Altar Guild
Members decorate the worship space, setup weekly altar flowers, organize donations of weekly altar flowers and prepare the monthly communion service. Members serve for three years from January through December.

  • Purpose: To beautify the church while enjoying fellowship with other members.
  • Time Required: Quarterly 1 1⁄2 hour meetings after the 10 am service plus committee work as designated.

Chancel Choir
Sing with the choir during the 10am worship service and special holiday services. Audition required.

  • Purpose: Express the love of God through music and enhance worship.
  • Time Required: 7:30 – 9 pm rehearsal on Wednesday evenings; 30 minute rehearsal on Sunday morning. Choir year is from September to June.

Hand Bell Choir
Play hand bells at selected church services.

  • Purpose:Express the love of God through music and enhance worship.
  • Time Required:7:30 – 9 pm rehearsal on Tuesday evenings. Choir year is from September to June.

Ushers
Ushers welcome the congregation and provide them with the bulletin for the worship service. They also receive the tithes and offering during the service .

  • Purpose: Ushers help insure a smooth flowing and hospitable worship experience.
    Time Required:
    Sunday 10:30 AM service from 10:00 AM to 11:30 am

Greeters
Greet visitors, regular attendees and members to the make them feel welcome at church. Offer any assistance that you possibly can.

  • Purpose: Provide a warm and personal word of welcome.
    Time Required:
    Sunday 10:30 AM service from 10:00am – 10:30am

Communion Servers
Team of four people who assist the four ushers and ministers in the communion service.

  • Purpose: To facilitate the ritual of communion
    Time Required:
    First Sunday of the month; arrive for training 20 minutes prior to 10:30 service plus attendance at that service.

CD Ministry
Team members use the church’s audio system to record and burn the sermon and anthem at the Sunday 10 am service. CD’s are available at the end of the service for a small fee. Skills with using audio equipment are useful.

  • Purpose: To allow people to listen to the sermon and anthem in their own homes, at their own time.
    Time Required:
    1 hour each Sunday
