Are you looking for viable, effective, trusted organizations to support as a part of your holiday season giving? Consider participating in the Piedmont Community Church 2022 Alternative Gift Market on Sunday, December 11 from 11am – 12 noon, 400 Highland Avenue, 94611
For nearly 20 years, Piedmont Church has sponsored this program as an opportunity for people to support local, national and international organizations dedicated to helping people in need.
All groups are vetted by the church and chosen to maximize effect and result for all donations.
For the cost of an iPad, you can buy a well that provides clean water to an African village of 300 people. For the price of a theater ticket, you can join the fight against international child trafficking. For the price of a few cups of coffee, you can provide meals or tutoring for a child in Oakland.
One hundred percent of all gift purchases go directly to the service organizations you select. Gifts can be purchased in honor of a friend or relative and afterwards you can notify them with gift descriptions we provide.
A good way to get an overview of the approximately 20 organizations involved is to view the online catalogue at PiedmontChurch.org/AGM where gifts can also be purchased. But, we strongly encourage you to come to the in-person Alternative Gift Market. There is a feeling of excitement, a sense of spirituality and a shared joy of giving at this popular event.
Participating organizations will set up information booths with staff to explain their programs.
There is no pressure to donate. Contributions are made at a separate central station staffed by church volunteers taking cash, checks or credit cards. Complimentary coffee and pastries are available for all attendees.
