The garden is open to the public and is positioned in a quiet area of the Piedmont Community Church property off Highland Avenue.
Suzie Skugstad, who was instrumental in the garden’s creation, explains its origin. The garden was a Girl Scout Gold Award Project by Piedmont Church member Sonja TenGrotenhuis. Suzie, Paul Schroeder and a host of volunteers dedicated time to making the garden possible and donations from church members and friends paid for construction.
Nearly 30 people attended the dedication ceremony, including Sunny Bostrom-Fleming, Deacon Carolyn Chun and Past Church President Paul Schroeder.
