Commitment Sunday for our 2027 Giving Campaign is October 25.  You will receive a Commitment Card during worship that Sunday. Watch your mail in early October for a brochure about our Church's progress, plans and the Campaign goals. The Stewardship Committee members are happy to answer any questions you may have.  The members are Carolyn Chun, Geoff Colton, Richard Coffin, Jo Giessler, Ann Lin, Thomas Parry, Steve Schibsted and Paul Schroeder. 

Our most important goal is to have 100% of our members and friends make whatever commitment is right for you. It is a thoughtful expression of intent for what you plan to give in 2027 and helps us plan responsibly. Please take a few moments before October 25 to be mindful about what our Church means to you.

Spooktacular Family Night

Friday, October 30, 5:00 pm – 8:00 pm

Costumes, pumpkins, creativity, and a little glow-in-the-dark fun! Join us for Spooktacular Family Night, a festive evening for kids, students, families, and friends. Enjoy our Harvest Market + Makers Festival, hands-on activities, games for our littlest ghosts and goblins, costume prizes, treats, and plenty of family fun. Then, as the sun goes down, we’ll light things up for our Neon Pumpkin Hunt! Come in costume, bring a friend, and get ready for a wonderfully fun fall night together.  

Advance registration is requested to help us prepare plenty of pumpkins, supplies, and treats for everyone.

Flourishing in the Third Third of Life Course

Sundays, October 11 – November 15, 11:30 am – 12:45 pm

The third third of life can present great challenges as well as amazing opportunities.  This course, developed by the Max Depree Center for Leadership at Fuller Theological Seminary, is designed to help you understand how you can flourish in the third third of life.  But the course isn’t just about dispensing interesting and invaluable information.  Its purpose is more practical and personal.  The course’s aim is to help you flourish in this chapter of your life, equipping you to live abundantly and purposefully in the third third. 

The course will be facilitated by Steve Schibsted, Don Ashburn and team, and will be held on six consecutive Sundays. Participants must be able to attend 5 of the 6 sessions to enroll.

Church Clean-up Day

Saturday, October 24, 9:00 am – Noon

Buildings and Grounds would like to invite you to the upcoming Church Wide Work Day. We will be spreading mulch, washing windows, fixing and staining the benches around the entrance and courtyard, doing exterior dusting, replacing landscaping lights, and doing general cleaning of the church. If you would like to join, we would love to have you there! Register below or sign up in the courtyard after services through October 18.

You’re invited to attend our next Come and See gatherings hosted by Steve Schibsted and Don Ashburn. We will meet on Sunday after worship in Guild Parlor. We will share a bit about who we are and what brings us to Piedmont Church and how we can grow together in faith and service. Lunch will be provided. Join Our Online Bible Study Group

Mondays, 10:00 am on Zoom

Did you know that Rev. Don Ashburn hosts an online Bible Study on Mondays at 10:00 am? He does and this year they are studying the Gospel of Luke. No previous experience in Bible study is required to be a fully participate and enjoy this group experience. Milestones

With grateful hearts, we remember David Birnbaum who passed away on September 25 and give thanks for his life and presence among us. We hold his family and loved ones in our prayers. Information on a memorial service will be forthcoming.

Jo Giessler is proud to announce the arrival of her first grandchild, Nicolas Lopes Hodak, born October 2, 2026 to Sam and Taylini Hodak of San Mateo.
