NURSERY & CHILDCARE COORDINATOR, CHILDREN'S CHRISTIAN EDUCATION DEPT.
PIEDMONT COMMUNITY CHURCH

Job Description:

Title: Nursery & Childcare Coordinator, a Non-Exempt position
Supervisor:  Director of Children’s Christian Education
Beginning Date: August 1, 2007 or before

The Church is seeking an experienced Nursery and Childcare Coordinator to supervise its Sunday morning childcare for infants and toddlers from 4 months to 3 years, and for occasional evening and weekend events for children aged 4 months through 12 years.

Qualifications:

  • Education, training and/or practical experience in early childhood care
  • Three references attesting to personal character and child care abilities
  • Genuine enthusiasm and compassion for infants and toddlers
  • Proof of updated TB immunization, infant/child CPR, First Aid, and clear background check
  • Adult with College Degree  or High School diploma with exceptional experience

Responsibilities:

  • Provide physical and emotional care and supervise volunteer and paid child caregivers for Sunday morning childcare for infants and toddlers 4 months to 3 years, and for occasional evening and weekend events for children aged 4 months through 12 years.
  • Ability to recruit, train and supervise qualified volunteer and paid caregivers
  • Schedule all volunteer and paid caregivers, finding substitutes when necessary
  • Lead brief circle time and storytelling with materials provided
  • Greet parents and provide smooth transition for children
  • Communicate with Director of Children’ Christian Education about problems or successes with program
  • Maintain Nursery safety, cleanliness and supplies
  • Maintain calendar, attendance records, etc. Assist with registration process and budget as needed
  • Assist Director with development and implementation of Infant & Toddler policies
  • Effective verbal and written communication skills
  • Punctual to work and able to complete work and tasks on time
  • Organized and efficient

Compensation & Benefits:

  • 17.00/hour, or dependant upon experience and education
  • Work hours – Minimum of 9:30 to 11:30 each Sunday, which includes thirty minutes weekly for cleaning and administrative work.  Special events add incremental time personally or for a scheduled qualified substitute, but would be primarily on Sundays and weekday evenings.  These occasions could also include care for children from 4-12 years. 
  • Six unpaid Sundays off/year. Coordinator will pre-arrange for qualified substitute in their absence.
  • Reimbursement for costs associated with maintaining immunizations, safety certification and background check after the first full year.

Janitorial Services Provider for PCC

Janitorial services provider is a Piedmont Community Church member preferably. Job duties include but are not limited to:

  • 4 - 8 hours per week estimated work load related to special events
  • Independent contractor status
  • Responsible for setting up/breaking down PCC equipment include in rental packages and for cleaning floors after events.
  • Reports any damage to facilities and/or PCC equipment to Day of Event Manager
  • Reports to Day of Event Manager
